justice of the peace marriage
How do i become a justice of the peace? So i can marry my sister to her fiance?

Any one know how and what it involves becoming Justice of the Peace and a registered marriage celebrant. I’m told to do this would be a long process but want to know how to get more info and how to make the first step. Help me make my sisters day special anyone?

I am in CA, so not sure if different where you are. You can go to your local County Clerk’s office. I believe you can get deputized for just 24-48 hrs and perform legal wedding ceremony. Here in CA, it wasn’t a “long process” at all! Here is the website for San Diego, CA that talks about it.

Or there are online websites that can “ordain” you and it is then legal to marry someone, just check with your county clerk to double check that you will be “legal”. I just found this website http://openordination.org
I had a friend from my AA meeting who was an amazing public speaker and very spiritual-he got it done online, but our research showed he could have gone to the clerks office also. I think it ran him about $75. Good Luck! I hope it works out for you… what an honor, your sister must respect and admire you a bunch-that’s sweet!
