How can I tell if others are being verbally abusive towards me?
Now, I’m the type of person that can take a joke, but are people just being verbally abusive to me? I mean, I’ve been having bad days recently, so I’m not sure if I’m just taking things too seriously, but i feel that people are constantly just making fun of me, and that if I actually do try to stand up for myself, that they’ll get all offended, and just say that they were joking. Are people just being jerks, or am I really just taking things too personally?
I would have to be there to listen to THEM, and observe their behavior. Maybe they are being abusive to you. But here’s what you do.
Don’t FIGHT them. Turn the other cheek. That parable wasn’t about someone physically striking you. It was about someone INSULTING you. The way around it or through it is to just let them continue insulting you. That takes energy. And pretty soon, they will have no more energy and YOU will be on your way to a higher state of consciousness because YOU have self control.
